Many of us have a collection of great images, and one interesting opportunity is to create a calendar and sell that. I’ve tried to interest local shops with calendars, but it is a hard business with the need to print the calendars, persuade shops to take them and then deal with any overstock. Last year I created a calendar on the Zazzle website, and sold 8 copies with no marketing effort. Now will 8 copies make a fortune – no, but it is better than the images sitting around gathering dust. Zazzle makes it very easy to make calendars – just upload your images, select them for each page of the calendar, add description and keywords, choose your margin (15% in my case) and post for sale. I created a 2012 version in about 15 minutes, and it is now for sale. So, if you enjoyed a lovely vacation in Kauai, check out my calendar!
